Canadians Add One “Moyer” to Superstar Series
Superstar series has always been a promtional fave of mine and just added was 25-year Major League veteran Jamie Moyer headed to Scotiabank Field on August 29th,the C’s battle the Boise Hawks at 7:05pm.
Also he was longtime Major Leaguer and former Seattle Mariner. In 1984 he was drafted in by the chicagi cubs in the 6th round. His career in 1986 and it would be one of the longest careers in baseball history. He played for eight teams in his 25-year career including eleven seasons (1996-2006) with the Seattle Mariners. He is one of six players to play a quarter century in the big leagues, including Rickey Henderson.
He finished his career with a 269-209 record. His career win total is good for 35th all time. The lefty threw 4,070 innings in his career and struck out 2,441 batters. His best success was with the Mariners, where he went 145-87 with a 3.97 ERA and was an all-star in 2003. He was on the 2008 Philidelphia Phillies team that won the World Series, the only championship he won. Moyer joins Dave Justice (July 18), Corey Koskie (August 8) and Fred McGriff (August 11) as part of the 2017 Superstar Series presented by Blakes and the BC Sports Hall of Fame. 2017 Promotional Schedule with the announcement of former Toronto Blue Jays slugger Fred McGriff being added to this year’s Superstar Series presented by Blakes & The BC Sports Hall of Fame.

The Vancouver Canadians Baseball Club is proud to unveil its full 2017 Promotional Schedule complete with 38 action-packed home dates that include some fresh, new ballpark themes and giveaways.

The Canadians open up the home portion of the 2017 Schedule on Tuesday, June 20th as they welcome the Everett Aquasox (Mariners) to historic Scotiabank Field at Nat Bailey Stadium at 7:05pm. Fans can expect a post-game fireworks extravaganza presented by Whistler Brewing. The first 2,500 fans to the ballpark will also receive a magnetic schedule giveaway also presented by Whistler Brewing.

For those familiar with the Canadians, many of our traditions will continue as we host eight (8) fireworks extravaganzas, six (6) Scotiabank ‘Nooners at The Nat and seven (7) A&W Family Fun Sundays including one (August 20) that will start at 5:05pm as opposed to the standard 1:05pm start.

Fans will want to circle the calendar on a number of nights as we host Kevin Pillar bobblehead night on Wednesday, August 9th (first 1,000 fans) presented by Scotiabank and again on Monday, August 14th when we release a Noah Syndergaard bobblehead to the first 1,000 fans presented by The Keg Steakhouse + Bar.
